This post is not to shame or ridicule any persons/models shown here; just to show what technology can do, to create that perfect look.
I will be posting the more popular models, taking their photos taken from their yester-years; comparing them with the latest.
For some popular models, like Seo You Jin (서유진), I can't seem to find any "discrepancy" in her looks from her older works to the current; so I'll be leaving these models out.
However, I do believe that most K-models, did went through (to some extent) some surgery here and there to fine-tune their looks.
They could have done the "transformation" before gracing the circuits; but well, we will never know...
Please note that makeup, lighting, hair wigs/styles, and photoshop will make a model look different... it may not be that soley, plastic surgery doing all the magic.
Whether one think the following models did went through the knife; based on these photos "evidence", will be based on one's individual perception.

Wow.. haha. Some of them are REALLY REALLY big changes. Others are very slight, with make up and lighting coming to save the day.

I knew there WILL be a big reaction to this, but that is the truth... Most of them DID go under the knife. Don't be surprised that some of them did it BEFORE gracing the circuits... You'll never know.
luckily Song Jina just seems to have had minor changes, or even possibly just better makeup. The rest of them broke my heart, LOL!

I don't think anyone should get sad over this.
I do believe that models like GJS has her great legions of fans, who DO know her "past looks". It seems in Korea, plastic surgery is nothing, and is "widely accepted".
I do believe that the girls themselves are responsible for their own decisions to go under the knife, it's their own rights, and I THINK we should accept them as they are...
We are in the new modern age now, though I still believe that this topic on 'Plastic Surgery' is still debated very hotly...

its so obvious that they were tweeked or transformed.. look at those nose bridges.. it aint of a natural korean~ plastic surgery to them there is like of the norm already.. it would be really rare to find a natural beauty..

I think this is a bit fake. Some look like men and probably wouldn't be able to appear in photoshoots or "on the circuits" looking like that in the first place.

Some of the before photos seem to not have been processed with photoshop(or whatever program is used to hide pores/veins/etc). I'm hoping that that is most of what the difference between some of the before and after pics; Processed and not processed. In any case thanks for the post. Whether these changes are due to plastic surgery or other reasons Its educational either way.
I actually consider it to be a good find if I come across a photo of a K-model which hasn't been, or has only been partially (IE. face only) processed. I especially love to see natural skin tone, veins and all, on their legs.

I agree with the above statement. Photos that did not go through ANY retouching whatsoever, will be more "true"
Great post!! But yes it's pretty obvious most have had work done. I'm also sure Choi Yu Jung & Hwang Mi Hee have fake chests. Good job though.

some of the plastic surgeons have some real skill! that one pic of GJS in the blue and white is pretty hot! though i like her cutesy look now ^^
JSH CYJ LJW and GJS look like really epic changes. HMH, you can definitely tell she lost some weight or cut away her chin; the rest.. they probably did some minor touchups but most of them look more like improved makeup + very minor change.
not too disappointed... except by LJW. she was a fave -_-

@jason: I did try to find her oldest works. I can't detect any changes in her facial features whatsoever... But then, who really knows ;)
wow, this is like a double-edged sword. in one hand it's good to see how they've improved.........in another it's kinda shows how fake they've become. but hey, nothing to complain here, iz all good.
I have been following HMH's progress since. It seems she did go through some minor surgery IMHO, as she ages she looks even more beautiful.

It's hard to believe the before and after of Lee Ji Woo. The before pictures were just too ugly, she even looks like a man/gay/homo! The changes were so drastic it looks unreal...

Whenever you are undergoing plastic surgery, you and your physician should be very concerned about some trivial details to avoid unwanted circumstances such as severe side effects or, skin graft rejection and all these.

Duh. Are you guys for real? You thought they were "natural beauties" before? Do you know what "real" Koreans look like?
I really cannot see most of what you guys are talking about. I'm not saying they didn't have surgery, and i'm sure some have, but it isn't very apparent in these photos and let's face it, we don't know when these pics were taken, not to mention the fact that each one of them is from a different angle, in different lighting, with different makeup, and probably by different photographers. I just don't see why everyone isn't taking this with at least a little grain of salt. They may have undergone surgery, but don't believe it just because everyone else says so.
Oh, and btw, not all of these girls are Korean... Who ever said they were??
P.S.- the whole point is also that these girls are supposed to be rare finds, not the average "Korean".

I'm not saying plastic surgery is a bad thing - hey if it makes you happy, go for - but if anyone has ever gone to Korea, they would know it's common. Like how we have "chinatown" or "koreatown" they have a plastic surgery town where all the plastic surgery clinics are located. It's even announced in their subway stop - plastic surgery town!

Even though they have had cosmetic surgery, you have to take into consideration that if they weren't somewhat more attractive than the average, then they wouldn't have been in this business in the first place. So they all must have been good looking to start with.
But, I knew the moment I entered the world of race-queens and models, the best bet is to assume everyone I see has had surgery at one point in their life.
On a side not, IMO, I'm glad HMH had the most minor changes done, gotta love Hwang Mi Hee.

LOL, my 3 fave models had surgery, which was expected. But I really couldn't care less.
It did not hurt Hwang Mi-hee.. that's the sad truth. Most of these girls look better after surgery (at least on those pics, which are probably retouched). The real truth would be a private photo from years ago and today few minutes after they woke up. This here is just good photographer, good make-up and good Photoshop. I wonder, how they really look like. But as for photos, they're pretty good :)
Inconclusive, I think most of what is seen is due to lighting, make up, age and some weight loss, and body toning. Most minor cosmetic surgery would be of the eye lid fold and reconstruction the bridge of the nose. I don't see much if any change in these areas. Being around Koreans for a number of years, there is a tremendous amount of change in physical features as they age, particularly, between the ages of say, 15 - 30. You can take an average looking person, and with the right make up and hair styling, they can be made to look like a "movie star". If they did or didn't have surgery, makes no difference to me.

you people are blind with no taste. the 2 all time favorites, hmh and ljw obviously went HUGE surgery: eyes, neck (whether knife or botox) and possibly nose.
but khy on the other hand only recently got a surgery on her eyes. if you see her other early photoshoots, (like her 18yr old shoot) she looks almost identical.
everyone of them had facial plastic surgeries. All had plastic implants. I can see all had done eyelids and nose. Some did bone shavings, some had chin ,and cheek augmentation. In south korea it is a big plastic world. Ethnic koreans usually have single eyelids, but if they have tall thin noses, double eyelids is sign that they had facial plastic surgeries. Only less than 20% ethnic koreans are born with double eyelids. In korea, its been a traditon to give newborns double eyelids right after birth for all 60 years now. Some koreans don't even know that cuz it was done to them when they are so young. Many korean parents choose to give their kids double eyelids right before they start preschool then after birth.
Wow, most are much more beautiful pre-surgery. I think afterwards they all kind of look the same... like dolls, and most seem to change their appearance to look younger in other ways - maybe face shape? It seems somewhat soulless.

Really, what do u expect? Their Korean, it's norm for any beautiful Korean girl to be just that....FAKE. Koreans are obsessed with plastic surgery to eradicate their korean looks...their hooded fat eyes, their long fat cheeks, their flat noses, their small mouths, etc,. The before pics are those girls with minor surgeries before they got more money to get more crap done....There is a joke in Korea about how men with beautiful wives shouldn't expect their children to come looking like anything like their wife because genetics aren't the surgeon. One of the reasons my Korean husband can't stand Korean girls, they tend to be completely fake at all levels, and he said that's a big difference between the US and Korea...the women in the US wear makeup, but not to the extent Korean women do, that Korean women will completely transform their faces and once they take it off it's a 360 in looks and that all of them expect their husbands to finance their surgeries and designer crap which is why they won't look twice at a man if he doesn't have a high paying job. Korean women are just materialistic fakes.

Most of the "before photos" of these ladies look like they were taken from drag queens. Ho ho ho, so if they did not underwent surgery, probably most of them would have been mistaken for drag queens.

I don't entirely agree with all these makeovers! I prefer and like the subtle ones. When you look back to the before pics and see big changes it doesn't feel right. But I guess it is up to the person and whatever that they feel happy and comfortable in.

They all looked really pretty before. Some of them just look deformed because the surgery does not match human proportions. They look like freaky cartoons. The nose is not in proportion with the eyes in some. In some the cheeks are not in line with the chin and face ratio
Why did some of them lighten their skin? The surgery makes them look strange by making them look like over sized cartoon women children. It's so weird, it's like they are changing themselves to be little white girls.

Going under the knife must be a painful process, but the gain is worthy.
Artifical beauty is still beauty and I like beauties. You only need to adjust your mindset and see in new light.

One very real drawback to plastic surgery is that it cannot overcome genetics...how will their kids look like?

ewwww.. I used to think these girls were attractive... Now I need to rethink this. It's amazing. I was scrolling down trying to guess when the change was made and was surprised to find how easy it was without looking at the captions. They look like new people and I'm not sure I would even be able to match the originals with the afters if you had mixed them up. Next time I see a super attractive girl it will be a huge turnoff. I'm going for 'second tier' looks from now on =P
